Chair's Message - October 2025

Dear FSGA Members,

As we enter the final quarter of the year, I’m inspired by the energy, collaboration, and commitment across our community. Together, we continue to strengthen the foundation of the fantasy sports and gaming industry and chart a course for an even stronger future.

One of the most important issues before us right now is the application of the Section 4401 excise tax on wagers to fantasy sports. As mentioned previously, FSGA has retained Miller & Chevalier to represent the industry before the Internal Revenue Service in pursuit of favorable guidance. This effort is critical to protecting the long-term health of our industry—and we need your help. If your company has experienced an audit or any related activity tied to this issue, please reach out to Miller & Chevalier to share your story. Your input provides the real-world context our legal team needs to make a compelling case and drive meaningful change on behalf of all FSGA members.

On a lighter note, we hosted another successful FSGA Member Meet Up at G2E, where more than 50 members joined us for an evening of great conversation, great drinks, and—by popular consensus—far too much food! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and new members connecting in person. A heartfelt thank-you to Underdog Fantasy and CBS Sports Digital for their generous sponsorships of our 2025 Meet Ups and for helping to make these gatherings such a success.

We’re also excited to share that registration is now open for the 2026 FSGA Winter Conference - Feb. 17-18 at Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas - where we’ll explore the theme Branding & Growth. The Conference Committee has been hard at work finalizing an engaging, insight-driven program that will deliver actionable takeaways to help members grow their businesses and connect with audiences in new ways. The program-at-a-glance is live, and we will be sharing more about confirmed speakers and sessions in the coming weeks. I look forward to seeing everyone in Las Vegas for what promises to be a dynamic and inspiring event.

And the excitement continues with the kickoff of the 2026 FSGA membership renewal season. Over the past year, we’ve made incredible strides together—expanding opportunities, advancing advocacy, and celebrating our collective achievements. Your membership makes this progress possible, so I want to thank you for your continued engagement and support. Be sure to renew early to ensure you get our lowest member rate for the Winter Conference!

Finally,  because fantasy sports wouldn’t be the same without a little humor—have you seen this year’s list of best fantasy football team names from DraftSharks? Baby Back Gibbs, Lamar the Merrier, Third Down for WhatTurn Your Head and Goff, and the list goes on. Have a funny team name? Drop it in the #random channel of the FSGA Slack - can’t wait to see what you all have come up with this year!

Warm regards,
Brandon Loeschner
Chair, FSGA Board of Directors
