Chair's Message - September 2025
Dear FSGA Members,
As we move into the fall, I’m excited to share several important updates that highlight the incredible momentum across the FSGA community.
Our 2025 Website Redesign Taskforce officially kicked off earlier this month. The group has already selected a new template to serve as the foundation of the next-generation FSGA website and has begun a comprehensive content audit. This audit will help us determine the right mix of pages, resources, and functionality to ensure that our website is modern, easy to navigate, and a true hub for members and industry stakeholders alike.
Meanwhile, the Conference Committee has been hard at work shaping the framework for our 2026 Winter Conference agenda, which will be centered on the theme of Marketing and Branding. Over the next several weeks, we’ll be soliciting speakers to bring this program to life. If there are specific topics or perspectives you’d like us to consider, please don’t hesitate to share your ideas—we want this conference - Feb. 17-18, 2026, at Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas - to be as relevant, practical, and forward-looking as possible.
We’ve also enjoyed connecting with many of you in person. Last month’s FSGA Fantasy Football Expo Meetup in Canton, OH, was a fantastic opportunity to network and engage with our community. A special thank you to Scott Hoyt for his help throughout and for everyone who dropped by our booth to share their experience and benefits of what our association is all about! We’re looking forward to keeping the energy going at our next gathering: the G2E Member Meetup in Las Vegas on Oct. 7 from 4–6 p.m. PT at Nomikai. Please RSVP here if you plan on attending. We hope to see many of you there!
Another exciting development is the launch of our new podcast channel, the Fantasy Sports & Gaming Association Spotlight - your go-to source for conversations with leaders, innovators, and game-changers in fantasy sports and gaming.
If you haven’t tuned in yet, last month’s episode, “Building Connections and Community: Scott Fish on the Power of Networking at FSGA,” is a must-listen. This month, we dive even deeper with RotoWire: How FSGA Shaped Their Growth and their launch of the New RotoWire Fantasy Football App & Website, featuring Peter Schoenke, Ken Crites, Lauren Jump, and Shannon McKeown.
Both episodes are available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other major podcast platforms, along with recordings from our Winter Conference. Don’t miss out on these behind-the-scenes insights into the people and partnerships shaping fantasy sports today.
On the advocacy front, our work remains critical. We wanted to remind everyone that we have retained Miller & Chevalier to represent the industry before the IRS and secure favorable guidance on the application of the Section 4401 excise tax on wagers to fantasy sports. This is a pivotal effort, and we need your help. If your organization has experienced any recent audit activity related to this issue, please contact Miller & Chevalier. Your input will be essential to moving this initiative forward successfully.
Finally, I want to extend my thanks to all who completed the 2025 Member and Research Survey. Your feedback is invaluable, and the FSGA leadership team is already reviewing responses as we shape our strategy for 2026 and beyond.
Together, we are strengthening our community, advancing our industry, and positioning the FSGA for an even brighter future.
Warm regards,
Brandon Loeschner
Chair, FSGA Board of Directors
